Frequency Of Weight Lifting - How Often Should I Lift?

The frequency of weight lifting will change over time. As a bodybuilding beginner you will work out your full body. It would look something like this:

- Workout every other day. This gives you enough time to repair those inflamed muscles.

- Beginner bodybuilders should choose 1 exercise for every single body part. Target every muscle in every workout, every other day.

How often should I lift? for moderate or advanced weight lifters.

Once you've adapted, and the muscles start catching on, you will have to change the workouts to continue growing.

An advanced weight lifter will want to do the complete opposite of beginner weight lifters. Instead of working out the entire body every other day, an advanced lifter will want to devote more attention to only 1 or 2 muscle groups per workout.

This would allow you to do more exercises for every muscle group. As a beginner it would be too much for the muscles to handle such a load.

Weight lifting schedule options. Most popular methods:

  • 1 day on, 1 day off, repeat.

  • 2 days on, 1 day off, repeat.

  • 5 days on, weekend off.

  • Morning workout (upper body), Evening workout (lower body).

The frequency of how often you lift will have to change as you advance if you want to get bigger.

You have the option of changing your workout routine schedule, or you could simply workout less, but make each workout more and more tough!
