Leg Work Out Twice A Week

Question: Can I do a leg workout twice a week? I'm 47 and I've been a martial arts instructor for the past 15 years. It's been about 8 years since I've touched free weights.
Now that I'm getting older, I feel the effects of age even though I'm quite active.
I've decided to start weight training again 4 days a week, and do commando cardio twice a week on off days.
The schedule I came up with looks like this and would appreciate your advice on my routine.
Monday: upper body: traps, shoulders, back and abs.
Tuesday: lower body: quads, hams, glutes and calves
Wednesday: commando cardio
Thursday: upper body: chest, biceps, triceps, forearms and abs
Friday: lower body: same workout as Tuesday
Saturday: commando cardio
Sunday: rest
I would like advice on this type of routine. Thank you for taking the time to help folks like myself!
Answer: It looks good! It looks like a routine that will really burn a lot calories.
How often will you be able to do this routine... That's the real question. If you do legs twice a week, and then on top of that, do cardio as well, your legs may start resisting a bit after some time. But it really depends on your recovery speed.
You could do this routine for a couple weeks, and then every 3rd or 4th week, you could throw in a curve ball, and do something completely different, then come right back to this routine again. Just an idea...
