Question: I've been doing some reading about Metamucil, and how to lower cholesterol naturally...
Is Metamusil something good to take to help lower cholesterol levels? What's in it? I'm a little worried to take Metamusil if the FDA has approved it... ;)
Answer: Metamucil uses Psyllium. Psyllium is a plant used as an ingredient for its high fiber content. High fiber foods is said to help lower cholesterol levels.
In every Metamucil product, Psyllium Husk is used as their main ingredient. The down side to Metamucil, is that they add ingredients such as Maltodextrin, Aspartame, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Blue No. 1, and more... These ingredients are terrible for you.
