Too old to get in shape??

by Ron

Question:
I'm a 48 y/o male, I recently went through a weight loss program (Weight Watchers) and lost 65 lbs. I go to the gym 5x a week, 2 days of resistance training and three of aerobic exercise. I am 5'10" and weigh 170#'s with a body fat of 16.5%. Do you think it is unrealistic for me to start a muscle building routine? Is 48 too old of an age to start? I'm not looking to become Mr. Universe, but I do enjoy working out and want to maximize my results. I guess I just want to know what I can expect.

Answer:
Congratulations on your weight loss! You are never too old to be in shape, and you are never too old to feel good.

First and foremost, you enjoy working out! That's enough of a reason on its own to try out a muscle building workout routine and keep going.

Weight lifting... whether it's for the muscle building benefits or fat loss benefits, will help your over all health, making you feel and look healthier.
