One of the biggest misconceptions to losing belly fat, and gaining those six pack abs that so many are looking for, is to just do sit-ups or crunches. Wrong!

You cannot achieve a six pack or gain washboard abs just by doing ab exercises, it doesn't work that way.

The point to doing abdominal exercises is to strengthen the core, it is only when you lose body fat when the six pack abs become visible.

The way to lose body fat is to..

  • Burn more calories than you consume.
  • Do exercises that force your heart rate up, to burn body fat such as doing cardiovascular exercises.
  • Eat Healthy.
  • Lower your stress levels.
  • Getting plenty of sleep.
  • Drink lots of water.

Ab exercises don't burn enough calories to make your stomach muscles visible.

However, ab exercises DO strengthen your stomach, and that definition will be waiting for you when you do finally melt that body fat off.

You could do thousands of sit-ups a day, and you still wouldn't burn enough body fat to see ab muscles. You're just wasting your time.

You must work your abs just like every other muscle group, and focus on burning off the fat through cardio movements to make strong ab muscles appear.

So many people would love for you to think that there is such a thing as flat stomach exercises, but this is incredibly false.

Ab exercises do not burn the required amount of calories to make your abs visible.

Just because you work a particular area of the body, doesn't mean that the fat will leave from that desired location.

There is no such thing as spot removal.

The body chooses where it's going to remove the fat stores from.

So just because you're doing ab exercises doesn't necessarily mean that the body is going to remove body fat from that desired location.

To make your abs visible, you have to do cardio. Cardio helps remove body fat. Stomach exercises just make the ab muscles stronger.

Think of it this way...

If you are extremely over weight, and all you did was ab exercises to remove belly fat, all you would be doing would be making your abs stronger, but you would never see a six pack.

Have you ever seen an extremely over weight person with abs? No. People that tend to have visible ab muscles are people that are lean all over. And it takes over all body fat loss, from smart training, healthy eating, and cardio to make this happen.

Now, if you continue to do abdominal exercises plus do cardio, and eat healthy.... Then you're on your way to a flat stomach.

Burning off the bodyfat is what makes the abs visible. And there is NO ab exercise that is strong enough to do that.


Abdominal exercises are needed to make the ab muscles stronger and bigger.

When you finally lose body fat, from reducing calories, and doing cardio, those strong ab muscles will be able to push through your tight flat stomach naturally, and be well formed into what is known as a six pack.

No one has ever been able to lose belly fat alone, without losing over all body weight.

Losing belly fat and making your abs noticeable is a result of over all body fat loss. The fat loss will never occur in ONE specific region of your choosing.

When attempting to burn fat, YOU cannot, and will not, be able to decide which area of the body that the fat will be coming off from. The fat that is burned off your body will happen throughout your entire body where ever the body sees fit.

As you become more lean, the ab muscles appear naturally and automatically.
