Weight Lifting To Lose Weight

Question: Weight lifting to lose weight...

Can weight lifting be used to lose weight, or is weight lifting mainly for people looking to build muscle?

If a person starts a weight lifting program what are some ways in which the individual can make sure they're doing it properly if their goal was to lose weight and tone up?

I'm not wanting the bodybuilder look. I just want to be lean, and maybe lose a few inches off the waist.

Should I do higher reps and lighter weight?

Answer: Weight lifting can be used for building muscle, or losing weight.

To use weight lifting to lose weight, increase your reps or do super sets using light weight, high reps, and short rests.

Light weight with high reps will strengthen, and tone your body.

Also, include cardio in with your weight training for faster results.
